The Gallery 45 presents Land Written in Verse: Contemporary Landscapes, a group exhibition running from 22 October to 29 November 2026. Bringing together five contemporary Armenian and Iranian artists — Armen Hakobjanyan, Astghik Petrosyan, Ayda Roozbayani, Iman Ebrahimpour, and Maryam Khastoo — the show examines the landscape as a space where nature, memory, and human experience intersect.
While Armenia and Iran share geographical proximity and a long history of cultural exchange, this exhibition steps away from defining landscape solely by national identity. Instead, it uses the landscape as a shared visual language. Through painting, ceramic sculpture, drawing, and photography, multiple perspectives on natural and urban environments are presented.
From textured mountain scenes to dreamlike forests, the works reflect not just physical geography, but the personal stories tied to these spaces. The presence of human figures within these forms serves as a reminder that places are shaped as much by the people and memories as by the terrain itself.
Land Written in Verse invites viewers to look beyond the physical landscape and consider the deeper relationships that give meaning to places.
